Soros-Funded Catholic Group Denounces Rush Limbaugh's Disagreement with Pope
Breitbart ^ | 11/29/13 | Dr. Susan Berry

Posted on 11/29/2013 8:20:56 PM PST by Impala64ssa

A spokesman for the liberal organization Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good (CACG) has posted on the group’s website a denunciation of what he states were “incendiary remarks about Pope Francis” by conservative talk-show host Rush Limbaugh on Wednesday.

Limbaugh said that Pope Francis was wrong in his apostolic exhortation released this week in which he appears to blame capitalism for the reason why people are poor in the world.

CACG’s Christopher Jolly Hale wrote on Wednesday:

Catholics of all political stripes are disturbed by Rush Limbaugh's incendiary comments this afternoon about Pope Francis. To call the Holy Father a proponent of "pure marxism" is both mean spirited and naive. Francis's critique of unrestrained capitalism is in line with the Church's social teaching. His particular criticism of "trickle down economics" strengthens what Church authorities have said for decades: any economic system which deprives the poor of their dignity has no place within a just society.

Contrary to what Mr. Limbaugh suggests, the Catholic Church isn't built on money, but on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.

We call on Mr. Limbaugh to apologize and retract his remarks. We urge other Church organizations and leaders--both ordained and lay--to also condemn Mr. Limbaugh's comments.

We proudly stand with Pope Francis as he provides prophetic leadership for the Catholic Church and the entire world.

Following the release of the pope’s exhortation, entitled Evangelii Gaudium, Hale wrote:

Pope Francis's words have given new vigor to what the Church has been saying for decades: 'trickle down economics' and other economic agendas which work against the poor and promote inequality have no place in a just society. Pope Francis's words should have particular resonance here in the United States as we enter into next month's budget negotiations. of society... and the lives of the poor!"

I doubt that he cares about the organization, what he wants, and has, is the Catholic voters in America.

“Anyone involved in politics knows that the democrat party owns the Catholic vote, ownership of that, is naturally an issue with the left.”

It all depends on what you mean by “the Catholic vote”: if you mean voters who were baptized Catholic, you’re correct; if you mean voters who are actually mass-attending, practicing Catholics, you’re wrong - those folks tend to be conservative, the way other folks who live their religious beliefs, from Baptists to Mormons to Orthodox Jews tend to be as well:

The Catholic Church predates Rush by about ..let me think 2 millenniums..

Honestly, I don't think very many persons of faith are influenced in any way by current politics or the shells for the political parties.

As as Conservative I depend on myself to raise my kids, to feed my family, to live my life and my faith. A politician or today's talk radio/show hot have no relevance..

When people say “the Catholic vote”, they mean how Catholics vote.

I will go with Pope Francis and here’s why. Pope Francis was referring to the evils of consumerism. As part of our social expectations we all seek bigger houses, bigger cars, more expensive dresses, and seek the Hollywood dream. This is how we “move” up by moving away from the Gospel theme: “What Doth It Profit A Man If He Gains the Whole World and Suffer The Loss Of His Soul.”

In short we seek the “golden calf” and this takes us away from the Christ. Monasteries, convents, and the ascetic life are all part of the “poverty” the Church extols as part of the Beatitudinal injunction: “Blessed Are The Poor…..”

The collapse of Lehman Bros, the JP Morgans, and the currency manipulators like Soros is precisely the breed that Pope Francis has in his cross hairs, and so must we.

Soros is a democrat-—as are most Catholics.

Soros himself is not Catholic.

Catholics voted roughly 50-50 in the last presidential elections. Among practicing Catholics, they went 2-1 for Romney.

Just to be clear on the first part: The Pope is claimed to be infallible ONLY when the following occurs:

  1. When the Roman Pontiff"
  2. "speaks ex cathedra" ("that is, when in the discharge of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, and by virtue of his supreme apostolic authority"....)
  3. "he defines"
  4. "that a doctrine concerning faith or morals"
  5. "must be held by the whole Church" (Pastor Aeternus, chap. 4)

Liberals have infested the Roman Catholic Church—when Pope Francis abolishes the office of Pope they will hail it as the greatest thing since there was a pope. Look at the Nuns who support abortion, and the Homosexual groups who wish to change the church? See what happened to the Anglican Church when they embraced change and put in women priests—they are endanger of dying out as a belief.

The next time the Church hits me up for money, I’ll remind them of the Pope’s proclamation.

“We all seek bigger houses.....” is painting with a very big brush. The pope is wrong, if what is written is what he meant to say.

I mean in general terms. Of course all do not. Just ask Mother Theresa, or the Apostles who left everything and followed Him.

You seem to have a bone to pick, having posted half a dozen or more comments informing us that “all” or “most” Catholics are liberal democrats. I’m not going to argue here, but you can easily look up the stats and see that Catholics voted for Obama about 50-50, and slightly less than the national average. Too many, but hardly what I’d call “all” or “most.”

WRONG! He was referring to capitalism not benefitting the poor. It’s not capitalists that damn the poor in foreign countries. It’s foreign countries like us that dump tons of foreign aid into poor countries to “help”. Rather than let their country build a free market economy of their own, we dump money and other forms of aid into their corrupt governments to enable them to control their populace...
