Leftists rarely question the party line so that first suggestion is a fail.

I read the ‘5 reasons’ - none of them will work.

BINGO...
Envy and Hate Radio only works with HUGE subsidies, as we saw with both Air America, and now Pacifica.
The left has thrown BIG money at this in Election Cycles, while they wither and die between elections.

Several problems..don't be a shill of the Democratic party... impossible since liberalism even in its most radical forms IS the Democratic party. The biggest problem is getting people to listen. The vast majority of Americans do not identify themselves as progressives or having progressive values. Liberals turn off their potential audience because they believe that the vast majority of Americans are too stupid to make the right decisions in their lives and always speak in condescension to them. You cannot convince anyone to listen to your ideas if you start by calling them or even inferring they are idiots. Last is finding sponsors. Companies buy advertising airtime to reach wide audiences. Liberal media has the lowest audience size and the more liberal the crap being broadcast the more the audience shrinks ...examples: MSNBC and the failed Air America. Liberal talk radio cannot succeed even modestly unless the government represses all other points of view on the airwaves. Even then audiences will be small because most people will not listen to this claptrap and will seek any means possible to listen to talk radio closer to their own views. For example by shortwave broadcast from beyond the Obama curtain.

Why do they need talk radio, when they have all the other media under their control?

Listening to liberals talk is painful
Very.

There is one way. Tell the truth! People do not tolerate bullcrap. If libs told the truth, they wouldn’t have to lie to the people to get their failed message across.
What’s to be embarrassed about. You are socialists, admit it. You are Marxists, admit it. The fact that liberals have to lie to prove their ideology is just is the first issue.

Why bother?
Leftists control 99% of the media and they worry about this? Leftists don’t want to listen to leftists on the radio, I think this has been shown over and over.

Leftist radio shows cannot afford to allow reality and facts to become part of the mix by allowing non-lefty callers

They are competing with every other news network except Fox.
Rush got big by saying things that were different that everyone else.
If liberal radio wants to win, it has to completely abandon the Democratic Party. Al Franken sold his liberal soul to get elected and he has been a complete failure.

The liberal shows I have heard always had one commonality: The host always answered the question he wanted to answer. He never addressed the caller head-on.

WHAT?
The highest rated, highest budgeted, biggest-staffed, most listened to radio show in the country by far is MORNING EDITION. It is an extremely liberal show filled with pseudo-objectivity, homosexuality, democrat talking points and incessant “crafting” of the “most important stories of the day,” according to the leftist executive producers.

There is no way to rescue them. People who vote liberal are uneducated and uninterested in being educated. They will be found listening to the music formats.

turn them into conservative talk radio stations.

After Mario Cuomo the liberal godfather was defeated for reelection as NY Gov-for-life, he started a talk show which folded in less than a year (”capitalist rightwing conspiracy among the advertisers!”).
The show’s trademark was Pope Mario the Pious’s hanging up on any caller who uttered the word “liberal”.
Alan Colme’s liberal rantfest folded three times for the same reason - those evil capitalists.
Geez......

With the political battlegrounds of 2014 and 2016 on the horizon, reducing the whopping imbalance between conservative radio, with its huge fan base, and the left has become more important than ever, according to those in the progressive media world. Politico libtards are absent any concern of the whopping imbalence in televised media bias (which then poisons the election debates with moderators and subjects determined by DNC colluding Journo-listas).
