Wait, I thought I was going to read that the tenants hadn’t paid their rent. Turns out that they had, and that he just wanted more money and was willing to turf people out of their home to get it.
Perhaps you read a different story. I read about fires in the apartments. The tenants had to leave for safety reasons. The owner made repairs and upgrades that would have taken MONTHS, when the tenants weren’t paying a cent to him. Tenancy terminated. He is free to rent to someone else after putting his own time, money and hard work into repairing damage that was likely caused by the tenants.
No, that building was NOT their property, it was his property. Yes, he wanted to rent it to those willing to pay more than they were. They are free to buy their own building and charge whatever they want.
There is a reason why we have these things called ‘prices’ in a capitalist system.
“Turns out that they had, and that he just wanted more money and was willing to turf people out of their home HIS PROPERTY to get it.”
Thats better.
