As one who has been there. Not everyone can make it home for Thanksgiving or has any place else to go. Some years I had a place to go, others not.

Now I never ordered a pizza for Thanksgiving, but some people do. It's a waste of money to have people working if there is no demand.

For many years I also had no place to go, and was thankful for restaurants that were open. Sometimes seeing a friendly face on a day like Thanksgiving is more important than the food.
