Importation of ammo concerns me as they are squeezing domestic supply.
5.45x39 is still ubiquitous but it has gone from $65 for 1080 rounds to $175 in the past few years.

For conflict at 100 yards or closer I actually think the 5.45 x 39 round is superior to the 5.56. That’s whay I recently acquired a Bulgy AK74, Tapco Trigger, with detachable muzzle break ...

Ballistics are pretty similar, I think 5.45x39 creates more of a wound.
It is Superior in price.
