It happened rather more closely directly in front of Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Connelly, and in full view of a loyal Secret Service agent. Eyewitnesses are important in immediacy to the event, memories not so much.

The Newmans that I mentioned were giving their account just a few minutes after the shooting at the TV station. A reporter on the scene brought them in to tell what they saw. Reports from the hospital that JFK was still alive were still coming in.

That said - even witnesses watching the same event have different versions, saw and heard different things. And also interpret things differently or wrong.

Mr. Newman says the shots came from behind him on the grassy knoll. And many others, including cops, run up there. He also states a shot to the right temple. Now - is the blood and material coming from what might be construed as the the right temple area be interpreted as a shot to the temple? But in reality is a shot from behind by Oswald? Very well could be.

And the shots from the grassy knoll? If you think the shot was to the temple, then the shots would be from the knoll. But I wonder if the shots echoed off of the wall? But then the time delay of seeing the splatter and then hearing the shot would be apparent I would think? I imagine people have looked into the echoes.

It doesn't matter much to me - but I guess it is sort of fun to sleuth it out a bit once in awhile. And I do like conspiracy theories, not that I necessarily believe in all of them.
