Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell (R-KY), was heard lamenting “How could Sen. Reid do this?” That's the problem with being a squish, Mitch. You're always surprised when the Donkeys blind side you. Mitch, the Donkeys are the ENEMY; they are NOT your friends. The Senate “Republicans” — with exceptions like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz — are RINOs reaching across the aisle to their political enemies.

Also, there's talk that the so-called “nuclear option” is only in place so long as the Donkeys hold the Senate. If they lose control in 2014, Senate rules reset and the old filibuster rules of 60 votes for cloture make a come back.

So...if The R's take control of the Senate in 2014, it will revert to super majority required to force cloture. Meaning the Dems will not be able to stop a Repub override of their filibusters. Where is the downside except for the current session up until next year's elections?
