The current troubles of the Obama presidency can be read back into its beginnings. Rule by personal charisma has met its proper fate. The spell has been broken, and the magician stands exposed. We need no pollsters to tell us of the loss of faith in Mr. Obama's policies—and, more significantly, in the man himself.
If Barack Obama seems like a man alone, with nervous Democrats up for re-election next year running for cover, and away from him, this was the world he made. No advisers of stature can question his policies; the price of access in the Obama court is quiescence before the leader's will. The imperial presidency is in full bloom.

Inexperience, ignorance and pathological commitment to ideology is destroying this president and the economy. He can no more manipulate the insurance market than run a successful website. Don’t even think about how he’ll manage our heralthcare. Two elections, a gave him a blank check to doing anything he wanted. Couple that with staggering incompetence and chaos results. The only question is how long will rebuilding of the industry take, if it can still be saved at all.
Obama was a good snake oil salesman. He sounded all positive and Hope and Change—but it was all smoke and mirrors and old ward healer junk —the worst of Unionism and corruption.

I work with blacks that are furious with him; they probably voted for him twice because of his color, but they remember the middle class lifestyle they had just achieved under Bush before the bottom fell out. These are middle-aged blacks whose children have grown so they’re paying higher income taxes than they ever had before; they went from going on cruises annually to looking for second jobs in a short period of time.
And our magic believing people will blame us for getting screwed by their own again.

I think that any fairly good looking mulatto speaking the usual political platitudes in standard English could have been presented to America in 2007-8 and elected POTUS by an electorate intimidated over the past few decades into jello fearful of being labeled “rassiss”. And then re-elected for the same rassissm stigma reasons in 2012.
