Sure he favors repeal. Like those who countenance abortion while “favoring” banning abortion “personally”. Now who is being intellectually dishonest here?

what. by fiat he wants a bill that tells insurance companies that they can’t follow the rules of obamacare?

and obamacare says you can’t write any insurance unless you do.

so basically he puts the insurance companies completely out of business.

what kind of fool is this guy? he’s definitely not a conservative.

This thing is going to take a LOT of politicians down. First to go should be the “Republicans” who ridiculed Lee and Cruz when they were just doing what common sense dictated had to be done.

I wonder if we are approaching a turning point here. I work at a large company with a unionized segment. they are usually pro democrat with all the usual lefty leanings. but they’re friendly enough, and we typically engage them in conversation. surprisingly enough, they are not in favor of obamacare, and even more surprising they are blaming the media for covering and distorting obamacare. they actually didn’t know if they were exempt, but they surmise that even if they are, they might eventually lose they’re gold plated healthcare(good guess).
I loved the part with they blame the media, and I was goading them into doing some kind of occupy movement of the local news stations.

Is Ron “Jellyfish” Johnson thinking about taking a stand?

Johnson has introduced the “If You Like Your Health Care, You Can Keep It Act,” which would amend the Affordable Care Act to ensure that individuals can keep their health insurance coverage. His bill promises “no changes to existing coverage.”

I think someone should introduce the "Live To 150 And Save" Act.

If Congress mandates that insurance companies assume an average lifespan of 150 years, then think of the income they can bring in during all those extra "healthy" years that a millenial will live before needing a payout from their insurance plans!

Congress acts! Problem solved! Mission Accomplished!

Ron supports amnesty for those who are “otherwise law abiding.”

Even in his 2010 primary I think there may have been attack on him based on amnesty.

I dont mind him for VP because of his troubles with Senate re-election. He should attack Paul Ryan to win with working people.

Any bill that repeals any Obamacare mandate does not patch Obamacare, it weakens it.

Less paying people in exchanges raises those premiums and deters others from joining.

His bill promises “no changes to existing coverage.”...

I was under the impression that was already the "law"; but the REGS were written so any changes at all to a policy made it a new, rather than existing, policy. How does this change that? Seems like not only is the barn door already open, and that horse is somewhere in the next county; but the barn has burned as well.

How is he proposing that cancelled grandfathered policies be re-grandfathered? Would this only apply going forward?

How is anyone who lost coverage made whole, without screwing someone else's pooch?

“But Johnson admits the legislation won’t help people—apparently millions of them—who already have received policy cancellation notices, most of them in the individual insurance market. …”

So whats the point of this bill if it would be pointless for the millions who have received their notice?
I hate most politicians they suck.

Politicians kept promising they will fix the broken DC. Some actually attempt to break up the monopoly. Ron Johnson, not.

Too bad, he was one of the ‘new’ senator swept into office during the 2010 tea party tsunami (against Russ Feingold, I believe). Running as a small business owner, he only voted to jack up his ACU ratings so he can claim his ‘conservative’ cred. We now know his true color.

/I know, because I was in Wisconsin for 6 years, and donated to him through Senate Conservative Fund (Jim DeMint). And I keep scores of those who I donated to.

This just proves once again that congress critters don't know how this law was supposed to work in the first place. All this "you can keep it" act will accomplish is to kill the public health insurance market more quickly. It will accelerate the death spiral if you will.

It was intended from the beginning that healthy, insured Americans would pay more for insurance to subsidize the 20-30 million getting free insurance. John Roberts was absolutely correct (in calling it a tax.) Obamacare is a HUGE tax on working America, they just called it "Affordable Care Act."

Ron Johnson - get up to speed here young fella . . .

The reason "you cannot keep your plan if you like it" is because it is from YOU that the subsidy MONEY is coming from!!!! Are you really that stupid or do you just the WE are?

“If You Like Your Health Care, You Can Keep It Act,”

Plans are being discontinued and people dropped because Health Care Insurers find it economically unfeasible to continue those plans. How can this “If You Like Your Health Care, You Can Keep It Act” force the insurers to continue with plans that lose them money?
