The fact of the matter is that animals are on this earth for our benefit, not to consider their lives as greater than our own.
I’ll go far enough to say He is responsible to God for being grossly negligent and putting himself, and one of God’s creatures in a really bad situation. But the decision he made after already being in a desperate was the right one, that does not make it an easy one.
