Let's say the bill passes... WILL OBAMA SIGN IT?

And if he does not, will there be enough votes in Congress to override his veto?

I’m calling bullshit on this whole thing. Obama isn’t running for re-election, and at this point I don’t think he gives a rat’s rear end what anyone thinks about him or the ACA. He’s just dying to get out of Washington for good so he can do some serious full-time golfing in Hawaii. Obama will veto this if comes anywhere near him, meanwhile all these Democrats will get to boast about their “courage” in voting for this bill.

We’ve already seen the emerging Democrat strategy in Bill Clinton’s interview this week. They’re all going to throw Obama under the bus, promoting themselves and Hillary as the rational alternative. A new form of the Limbaugh theorem.

New sudden laws to fix the OLD s sudden laws.

On Christmas Eve.

Laws all ‘round...! On the house!

This cracks the armor of the entire forced upgrade/mandate BS.

Never underestimate the republicans ability to flub this.

Seriously, we knew Obamacare was going to stink. But did ANYONE think it was going to be of this magnitude and consequence so soon? I think we are witnessing the greatest debacle in American history, not just the failure of Obamacare but the public castration of Barack HUSSEIN Obama.

The dems can kiss ass. Keep and Defend the Constitution Act should be on their mantle.

Everybody gets to go home and get some rest.

Senator Kay Hagan, you are up for a fight. Take your socialism and shove it.

This Nation is about freedom FROM government.

The best solution would be to outlaw all medical insurance, and allow treatment costs to sink back to a normal level, like they were in the ‘50s before “health” insurance came along.

Repeal the law, coverage currently stays the same for everyone, those that lost coverage should find temporary solace until able to renegotiate with old policy or find one just like their old one, AND THAT IS IT, final offer for the Congressional dems (While explaining this "grandfathering" does not make economical sense, along with campaign commercials bombing this law).

All Boehner is doing is performing fellatio on the Donkeys. What Boehner needs to do is play serious hardball. This nation is hanging in the balance and he wants to help "softening" and polish the destruction, good grief.

The vote on Upton’s bill is set for Friday, which, per CNN’s source on the Hill, means the White House has 48 hours or so to come up with its own proposal for letting people keep their plans — adverse selection problem or not — before Democrats head for the lifeboats.

Countdown to Friday mayhem ping.

Just the fact that there is a discussion about this bill shows that there was not the need democrats said when it came to creating this law tax in the first place.

The Rats are hoping they can unspill the spilt milk. Ain’t gonna happen. For one thing they got only 6 weeks before millions find themselves without health insurance. Ain’t enough time to fix ANYTHING before then. And besides those polices are kaput, and no amount of legislation can make them come back any more than legislation can undo the damage wrought by a Cat 5 tornado.

This is called the (Obamacare) death spiral.
Dems are in a panic.

Obama is probably counting on this dying in House.

Obama will have to veto it. It would speed the collapse of Obamacare. The folks whose plans were cancelled have to pay exorbitant new premiums.

because it would make canceled plans available to all consumers, not just the ones who’d been enrolled in those plans before. That would be a disaster for the insurance industry.

I can see why the WH would attack it from a political standpoint. But even if it goes forward I can see how they end up winning in the long run. WH and dems will pass legislation restricting rates and basically make it so insurance companies fold. If enough damage ensues to insurance companies that paves the way for the dems to come to the rescue with single payer which is what they want anyway. They want insurance companies to fail.

Haven't said that I think the political reality in short term though is they prefer to have their "plan" preserved so they are not seen as backtracking. Now that they control this industry they can always find a way to screw insurance companies later and move to single payer. either way they win. The RINOs cant do much except pass this bill (with dem support) which does help some people now. The little people are grateful for any crumbs the RINOs can throw them.

What they need to do is repeal it with an effective date of Jan, 1 2015, giving the entire healthcare industry time to recalculate. There’s too many moving targets right now for anybody with a brain to make any intelligent decisions.

If the risk pools aren’t merged, replete with higher rates for the former, you can’t pay for the latter.

I don't think "adverse selection" will be a problem, because only 50,000 people have signed on so far, and many of those have probably signed on for Medicaid.

If the Democraps are bailing, they should be able to override Obama's veto.

Is this really happening?
