Now if youre saying Leno was harsher towards Cruz than other Republicans who have been on his show... - ImpyI'm saying that I was in the studio audience when Jay interviewed Sarah Palin (once) and Ann Coulter (twice),
and I did not recognize the Jay Leno that I saw reading Obama talking points at Ted Cruz last Friday.Jay may be a LEFTY, but he's also an ENTERTAINER......and he knows that a big chunk of his audience in Middle America is conservative. After some obligatory jabs at Sarah and Ann, Jay was warm and friendly with BOTH of them,So, I'm just trying to figure out what happened THIS TIME.
NOT the partisan hack who kept interrupting Senator Cruz with attempted "gotcha" questions. My preliminary analysis is that the Left FEARS Ted CruzIt appeared to me that this time around, SOMEONE (probably ValJar, the Night Stalker)
more than they feared Sarah Palin after she lost, and
more than they fear Ann Coulter, who isn't running for anything.
pressured Jay agree to this attempted hit on Senator Cruz.At least that's MY opinion on what happened. ;)
The thing I can’t figure out is this. If Leno had wanted to do Cruz some dirt, he could have just not invited him on. Giving the guy a national platform is a Bad Idea for the left because he always comes off as poised, informed, and very, very bright.
So, Leno may have given the brain-dead left some gag lines, but they’ll never vote for a Republican (especially a real one like Cruz) anyway. To the conservative base, however, our guy looked cool under pressure and unflustered by Leno’s antics. What’s that word I’m looking for? Dang....wait a minute it’s “Presidential”. Yeah, Cruz looked downright presidential.
How can that be good for the left?
