I haven’t read the article, just commenting on your post. Actually, the Appalachians end with the Glass Mountains in Texas, and are the “youngest” of the mountain chain with the oldest originating in Canada.

Maybe the Ouachita Overthrust but not the Glass Mountains. Between them is the buried Central Basin Platform in the Permian Basin. Not really part of the same “chain.”

Notice the putz colored 100% of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota as Yankeedom as well.

The reality is that urban centers in these three states may very well reflect that attitude, but the larger geographical areas outside of them have much more in common with Midlands.

Yes but his map has it going almost all the way to San Antonio.

Also he has "Greater Appalachia" extending into what looks like Wichita Kansas, I can tell you, Wichita is pretty dang flat.
