I am also so old, that I remember when our phone mumber was only 4 numbers Then they came out with those new fangled prefixes like “Atlantic 1 or Prospect 6....then the number..Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the good ole days ;-)

I remember “party lines”, cranking the crank, and telling the operator the party’s name, number & address, back in the early 50s in WVa. She’d call back when she made the connection, after the previous users were finished.
