Can’t agree with that. Boehner committed the ultimate act of betrayal when he put the “clean” senate bill to a vote and reopened the government.
I’m no fan of McConnell but he is only the minority leader in the senate and has about as much power as the queen of england. His voting record is very conservative though.

Boehner at least faked a conservative position for a bit during the shutdown. OTOH, McConnell preemptively surrendered on the cloture vote and put ZERO pressure on vulnerable Dems during the entire kenyancare debate. Basically he dumped everything on the House as quick as he could rather than engage the Dems in a debate they did not want to have. Additionally, the NRSC did NOTHING before or during the shutdown.
McConnell may be minority leader but his has plenty of power. He just does not choose to use it to defend our Constitutional rights or advance a conservative agenda.

At the very least, I don’t mind McConnell in the Senate as far as his voting record is concerned. Its his leadership that is the problem. He has proven completely incompetent dealing with the dems and the pres. He should not be in any form of leadership with the reublicans in the Senate.
The GOP establishment and the ‘traditions’ of the Senate promote the additude of “its my turn to lead or be the nominee”. What we have seen on both sides of the isle, is that senority has absolutely nothing to do with good leadership.
Having written the above, I still think it is time to primary McConnell out next spring.
Shutting down the go government was a stupid idea in the first place.
Sorry, but McConnell did everything he could to sabotage the conservatives in the House. Taking the money for the dam was, under the circumstances, a slam in the face.

Boehner put the Senate bill on the floor because McConnell had already pulled the rug out from under him by negotiating and then supporting the Senate bill.
Once the Senate Republicans abandoned the House Republicans, there was no hope of prevailing.
And, if I'm not mistaken, that is the third time McConnell has pulled the rug out from under Boehner and the House.
Harry Reid knows that, when the going gets tough, Mitch McConnell will always be there to wave the white flag.
Let's not forget that it was also Mitch's idea to give the President the power to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling, giving away whatever leverage the House Republicans might have at the next "shutdown crisis".
