Weekly initial jobless claims are out.

Claims fell 336,000 in the week ended November 2, basically in line with economist expectations of 335,000.

That's down from 345,000 the week before (revised from 340,000).

"The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ending October 26 was 2,868,000, an increase of 4,000 from the preceding week's revised level of 2,864,000," according to the report.

336,000 will be revised upwards next week. You can count on that.

What a bunch of nonsense.

Neither party is advocating for American jobs.

NEITHER PARTY.

Bring back American jobs. Now.

These stories are funny in a bad way. There are still over 300k people claiming unemployment, but, because it is 2k to 6k less than expected, it is good news. George Orwell is spinning in his grave with this bs.

READ the sentence above again.

It is wrongly written.

It says claims fell by 336,000 from last weeks claims of 345,000. That would mean there were only 9,000 claims this time around.

I cannot believe how poorly that sentence is written.

When more people get some sort of government welfare than work full time we have passed the tipping point and it’s all down hill from here.

It was a careless mistake by BI but people who follow these things knew how to interpret it. The important things to note are that 336K is still a bit of a miss when compared with the consensus estimate of 335K, and of course 336K will be revised upwards as these numbers almost always are.

The job market is still stagnant.
