It would be tough not to end up awfully jaded. But it's like cops the world over... You spend your days, endless hours, seeing only the very worst parts of the city you live in. The worst people. The most sickening crimes. You don't respond to happy households full of smiling children. You see the sickest, most foul things. Day after day. I couldn't do it.
