While I understand the anger and agree somewhat with a new party, a 3rd party will continue to ensure Democratic victory. In the case of VA, where an Obama bundler footed the bill for the Libertarian candidate, then you would have the vote split 4 ways. Dems, Rep, Lib and Tea Party....Tell me how this will create a victory for the Tea party candidate?
This is also a wake up call that the fight will not be fair. This occurred in 2010 with Murkowski losing the primary and then running as a write-in candidate. So, if they lose the primary, they may still run in the election. If they don't have someone that can win the primary or something like a write-in campaign, they will throw a "Libertarian" in there.
IOW, we may decide to fight the proper fight by taking back the Republican Party through the primary process, but the GOPe and their Democrat buddies will throw other monkey-wrenches into the works.
The only way I see to combat this is to take back BOTH parties. Run candidates in BOTH primaries!

I agree with the “take back the party” concept. I didn’t think about having to take the Libertarian party back. That make the row to hoe twice as hard

Make no mistake about it, the GOPe and the Democrats don’t want anyone else crashing their party.
The fact of the matter is that there is a deeply ingrained status quo culture in the GOP and it will visciously fight any would be “intruders”.
