Foreign debt cancellations are expected to reach new highs in Frances 2014 development aid budget, with Somalia, Zimbabwe, Chad, Ivory Coast and Sudan in line for a complete deletion of their national debt.
Last week, French MPs told two ministersPascal Canfin, in charge of development policy, and Benoît Hamon, in charge of the social economythat the countrys development aid budget was scattered and non-transparent.
The MPs, on the foreign affairs committee of the French National Assembly, were speaking during the the latest assessment of the 2014 budget.
The parliamentarians discussed debt relief for the most indebted poor countries, the PPTE in French. Debt cancellations almost tripled between 2013 and 2014, Socialist MP Jean-René Marsac told the committee. Which countries benefit from it? he asked, adding that many NGOs also shared that concern.
France carries more PPTE debt than any other country.

France surrenders again.
Did they REALLY think they were ever going to collect payment from Chad or Zimbabwe anyhow?
If they had taken this tack at the Paris Peace Conference, we might’ve avoided WW2.
Coming to America soon...as both major US parties are Liberal Globalist...and will pander to end debt to TWS nations (Third World S-—hole). France just leading the way

It’s okay to be poorest if poorest means you can at least tolerably survive. There’s poor and there’s POOR.
The poor in America have free Obamaphones, cable tv, collector Nikes, cigarettes, debit cards that work at strip joints,...
Yes, American poor is richer than a lot of other places’ middle class.
I would say no. The radical Heiliges Römisches Reich types would have found another way to play up the Dolchstoßlüge.
We have already forgiven debt before. I believe we may need debt forgiveness in the not to distant future.
Good point.
