Essentially, you pay double or triple what you paid before, and you get catastrophic coverage with a deductible high enough you would normally never fill it.

And if you get sick enough to blow by the exaggerated deductible, you’ve got that death panel thing waiting for you.

As far as I can tell you won't even get that far. For a lot of people their new policy won't provide any coverage for care at the research oriented hospitals that handle the tough cases. So when it comes to needing really sophisticated medical care, you're simply uninsured, even though you are paying higher premiums every month.
