Obamacare architect Ezekiel Emanuel, a former adviser to the Obama White House, admitted today that, if Democrats have their way, the individual insurance market is going away.
“Insurance companies don’t want, insurance companies don’t want the individual market as it’s constructed. They see the future. That individual market is going away. They don’t want to invest in it.”

“Insurance companies don’t want, insurance companies don’t want the individual market as it’s constructed.”
That fact “as it’s constructed” was true before Obamacare and Obamacare only made it worse, but, the real truth is that “as it’s constructed” is in reality “as government regulation and tax policy has constructed it”.
“As it’s constructed” was an remains an artifact of government intervention in the marketplace, not the absence of it.
The problem is this creep and Obama are democrats and so their religion is socialism/marxism/communism
This is not a socialist takeover of healthcare. It is a federalized fascist takeover of over 50 state, district, and territory health insurance markets.
The health insurance companies are dividing markets, some companies taking some states, other companies taking other states. This ordinarily would violate anti-trust laws, but when the Federal Government is colluding to make it happen, and the state governments are handing hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to certain health insurance companies for monopoly or oligopoly access to the state’s customers, does the law matter any more? And no doubt those millions come in return for millions spent by the companies in lobbying for exclusive access to the state exchange.
Maybe the insurance companies are playing crony capitalism. Maybe the lobbying cost is just a vig to the mob which is the government. Regardless, welcome to the Corporate State of health insurance.
Watched Ezekiel on TV this evening.
