When New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the SAFE Act in Januarywhat he referred to as common sense gun-control legislationthe law not only turned many law-abiding citizens into criminals, it also drove businesses and jobs out of the state.
With a move to South Carolina, American Tactical Imports has become the third firearm company to relocate its operations from New York to more gun-friendly states. According to Guns.com:
ATI is largely an importer and distributor of domestic firearms, although they do some manufacturing. They plan to move from Rochester to Summerville, a city on the outskirts of Charleston, starting next month.
They are bringing 117 jobs to Dorchester County between their headquarters, assembly, customer service and sales teams. The company said it will be investing $2.7 million in jobs and facilities.
While the companys primary decision to relocate is to operate in a state with strong support of the Second Amendment, the move offers some logistical benefits to ATI as well. As an importer this brings the company closer to the shipping lanes it relies on for product deliveries. The Charleston area is home to some of the largest and busiest ports on the Atlantic seaboard.
[The] announcement is another testament that South Carolina is a destination for job-creating investments, Gov. Nikki Haley said.
And no doubt Cuomo is glad they are leaving “his” state.
“...the law not only turned many law-abiding citizens into criminals, it also drove businesses and jobs out of the state.” Like father, like son. Mario did a good job of chasing business out of the State too.
If this keeps up, nobody in NY will have guns.
Think of how safe they will be then!
WOO-HOO!
Now if only Big Green, Kimber and Henry will head south...
A perfect example of a brilliant, really-really smart, thoughtful, intensely smart, Progressive genius chasing evil, gun-distribution companies out of the state.
We are now that much more safe!

ATI makes some cool stuff. Glad they got out of the NY hell hole.
Henry moved across the river to New Jersey a few years ago. It’s a family business and has long-time skilled workers they didn’t want to abandon. Otherwise, they probably would have gone South or West.
When a white guy can walk through Harlem (any day or night)unarmed, with impunity, and not be massacre’d...Or be hit up for $5, maybe $10 (inflation)...
Then I’ll be convinced...

Bump.
We the citizens of South Carolina love it !!!! Our state is all for freedom and it is certainly helping our economy.....
I lived in Union, South Carolina for a year and 1/2 and absolutely loved it. Made many friends and it was the happiest period of my life. I love SC and wish I could return.
