I would love to puff up my chest and take credit, but I would be lying. I forgot who, but a freeper suggested looking into Christian Healthcare co-ops. I found Medi-Share, that I applied with, Samaritan Ministries, and Christian Healthcare Ministries. I know the Roman Catholic Church is establishing a co-op and I believe there are other co-ops out there.
When I realized my monthly premium would be half what I'm paying now I started looking into a concierge doctor.
In a perverse way obamacare did me a favor. It wasn't until my existing coverage was cancelled and I found a similar plan would be double my present premium that I started looking into this. I don't want to be in the govt system and this is how I avoided it.

My original comment stays: I'm impressed... You might want to write this up as a stand-alone thread.
