Cool.
The Celts liked to travel a lot. They founded colonies in NW Spain and Poland. They also inhabited a portion of Asia Minor and were known as the "Galatians," as in the Letters to the Galatians.

Of course we are taught the Romans civilized the Celts and educated them. Most of what is known about Celts came from Roman writers. The victors write the history books. The Yankees said the same about the South and students are taught from Yankee history books. Only us Southerns that have deep family histories know the truth.

We know from Julius Caesar’s account of his invasion of England that the Britons fought with chariots. Kind of figures they had some roads somewhere.

Wow, it’s still smoother than Kishwaukee Ave. in Rockford, Illinois.

Logical that they would build decent roads for wheeled traffic considering that the British Celts were still using chariots in warfare during the time of Caesar’s invasion, long after their continental compatriots had given them up. Likewise that the Romans would pave over and “improve” such roads in their own style after taking over post-Claudius.

The Celts liked to travel a lot. They founded colonies in NW Spain and Poland. They also inhabited a portion of Asia Minor and were known as the "Galatians," "Galicia" is a region in Southeastern Poland/Western Ukraine. And the speculation is that is where the name came from.

Unless the roads were similar to the corduroy roads of the American frontier, how could they be carbon-dated?
To: DeWalt
Most of what is known about Celts came from Roman writers. The victors write the history books. Reminds me of Churchill remarking that British history (reflecting his era) would treat him kindly because he planned to write most of it.

Were still riding on corduroy roads today. Especially if you live on dirt roads, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Let me get this straight: pre-Roman roads in Briton prove that Genesis it true. OK then...
