Along that same vein...vane?...kid makes friends with a sea lion, sea lion saves the day. I remember severalmstories about kids getting attacked by wild sea lions after that movie came out.
We even had a school assembly where the teacher had to tell us to leave sea lions alone...and I lived in Iowa.
