What we really need now is a statutory definition of "natural born citizen". Does the person have to be born in a state? A US territory? How many citizen parents are needed? Is "natural born" a third class of citizen separate from naturalized and at birth, or is it just another wording for citizen at birth? What about people with multiple citizenships? I've heard lots of arguments both ways but no one as shown me a line in either the United States code or a definitive definition from English common law at the time of the Revolution.
IIRC, the progs were making the claim that because McCain was born off the base, in a civilian hospital, he was not eligible. The claim is laughable, as are many of their claims.
McCain’s father was in Panama serving in his country’s service. That’s another difference.
