It’s time to flood Reid’s office with phone calls, emails, faxes, tweets, facebook posts, and anything else that lets him know that he’s a blooming idiot for making such an assertion.

I just asked a bizillionaire and he says HELL NO he is not willing to pay more taxes!

And he and his wife are DEMOCRATS (at least WERE Democrats - but it's getting harder and harder to stay Democrats). And believe me, I forward all this crap to them to make sure they know how Democrats in Congress feel about them.

I recall that there wer a few members of our current president’s cabinet who weren’t willing to pay more taxes, and didn’t.

My travel dollars do not go to Las Vegas.

Obama told me not to go there.

Until the unions to told him to shut up.

I am still not going to Nevada.

Uh, no ..... especially when new Obamacare premiums, deductibles, etc. could be 1/4 or more of your income. Where is the money going to come from .... can’t afford mandated Obamacare and potentially won’t have enough left to live on? After Obamacare, people should be squealing like stuck pigs at the mere mention of more ‘taxes’.

Democrats do not compromise. It’s not like they need to. The GOPe has already signalled they will surrender on every issue.

OK Harry, let’s start out with getting rid of the earned income tax credit. After that we can start taxing welfare benefits.

I know a way.

A weekly lottery. Pay ten thousand buckks for a shot at the plate with a wichester with iron sights at 500 yards.

Only the plate being Reid’s head.

It’ll be both a poll and a funder.

We're not only probably never going to hear about Congress's constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers from Harry Reid, but I don't foresee Reid cluing anybody into Justice John Marshall's clarification about Congress's limited power to lay taxes.

Given the remote possibility that some freepers aren't aware of this, Justice Marshall had officially clarified that Congress is prohibited from laying taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue which Congress cannot justify under its Section 8-limited powers.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

So not only have the states never delegated to the federal government, via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate public healthcare, for example, but based on Justice Marshall's words, Congress cannot lay taxes in the name of public healthcare.

"Everybody" in North Korea is "willing to pay more" taxes. As for the American taxpayer, Sen. Reid can go fornicate himself.
