Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chair of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the House of Representatives, says he has plans to unveil what he calls a "come-from-the-shadows" bill on immigration which would extend a 6-year legal status to many of the nation's 11.7 million undocumented immigrants and allow them to travel freely to their country of origin. The House Republican told Politico on Wednesday that the proposal was "halfway between full amnesty and simply rejecting people", adding, "I think if we're going to break this logjam that's occurred for my whole 13 years I've been in Congress, we have to find middle ground."
Issa, whose southern California district is about 30 percent Hispanic and 17 percent foreign-born, has long been seen by immigrant advocates as a moderate voice among the Tea Party-heavy Republican caucus in the House. America's Voice, the biggest immigrant-advocacy group in the nation, counts him on a list of 28 House GOP members who support immigration reform with a path to citizenship for the undocumented.

The first thing that will happen is some judge will make it permanent and then start giving them all sorts of stuff and then they will made instant citizens.
There is the law of the land and then there is amnesty.
Why is middle ground... amnesty??
amnesty is the death knell of the GOP
Conservatives should wash their hands of it
Plus strongly worded letters when none of them do.
Green cards and free ObamaCare and EBT cards. And then citizenship and voting.
Misguided.
Looks like we unleash hell against the idiot party again.
Anybody who has followed the immigration issue knows “temporary” is a synonym for “permanent”.
For example, the US supposedly granted temporary legal status to “refugees” from various wars including the Salvadoran Civil War. The Salvadoran Civil War ended in 1992 but instead of these “refugees” going home their legal status in the US keeps getting extended. Just go straight to the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services website concerning these Salvadorans in the US:
TPS (Temporary Protected Status) Extended through: March 9, 2015
Issa will put a lot more effort into passing amnesty than he ever did on
his Benghazi investigations.

To think it wasn’t that long ago I caught all sorts of flak not believing he was all that and a bag of chips. Same with a few others out there who are blowing hot air.
“The House Republican(Issa) told Politico on Wednesday that the proposal was “halfway between full amnesty and simply rejecting people”,
Prison for felons and deportation for alien lawbreakers, no, we sure don’t need no stinkin’ immigration laws or laws for that matter, Darrell, because that would be “rejecting people”.
In fact, Issa’s company `Viper car alarms’ rejects hardworking car thieves who are just trying to make a living, and that’s like putting them in prison, the racist SOB rejecting them like that. Cali should give a full amnesty to all of its criminals, but first tattoo poppies on their faces so we can shoot them if they come east.
GOP-e you worthless sacks o’ s***!

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
