I like the implication that those of us in the Tea Party hate people who are vegitarians. Umm, no. We kinda believe people have the freedom to eat what they wish.

And Durbin, projecting onto Cruz. Like Durbin isn't a putz for getting an Obamacare government payment while the rest of us get to pay one hundred percent.

I'm not a vegetarian, though my eating habits have moved in that direction over the past year.

I basically follow the "Eat to Live" philosophy espoused by Dr. Joel Fuhrman. His book was recommended to me by my doctor, when I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. All I can say is that it works for me. There's no counting calories, but I've never eaten so much in my life. I was on diabetes medication for 3 months, but the regimen eliminated the need for medication.

Simply put, it's "beans and greens". When I bring one of my salads for lunch, my female co-workers are always complimentary.

I'll have an occasional burger, and chicken and fish several times a week, but nowhere near what I ate a year ago. The other big change has been the avoidance of soft drinks. Now it's water and iced tea, with an occasional adult beverage.

I don't force my views on my family, but my son's eating healthier now, and he likes black bean burgers (chipotle seasoned from Costco - green box).
