emocratic nominee for Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe on Saturday relied on long-time friend and party superstar Hillary Clinton to help his campaign in the closing weeks of the tight, closely watched race.
The former First Lady and Secretary of State was on familiar ground, touting her support for womens reproductive rights and fair pay -- issued on which McAuliffe also promised to make good.
I am so pleased as I look out in the audience to see a lot of familiar faces, but also to be here to enthusiastically endorse my friend Terry McAuliffe to be your next governor, Clinton said at the Women for Terry" rally in northern Virginia. The whole country is watching this election, watching to see if the rights of women and girls will be respected, especially their own bodies.
Clinton cemented her place as a champion of women rights in 1995 when as First Lady she said at the United Nations World Conference of Women, in China, that Human rights are women's rights, and women's rights are human rights." And she has made similar remarks at women-focused events since retiring this spring from the State Department.
But winning the womens vote, particularly that of younger women, is not a lock should the 65-year-old Clinton, as widely anticipated, run for president in 2016. She barely won 50 percent of that bloc in her 2008 Democratic presidential primary loss to Barack Obama.
McAuliffe vowed, if elected, to veto any legislation that would restrict birth control and to fight to keep open clinics.
I will oppose any legislation that is an effort to erode a womans right to make her own constitutional choices, he said. I want Virginia to be a brick wall to any efforts to take away your rights.

KC has also not fought back with PRO-LIFE ads to counter the attacks from the baby killing liberals that he will take away their right to murder their unborn.
I absolutely do not believe that more than 50% of the women in Virginia are pro-abortion. Listen to the polls and that’s what you will hear though. All this garbage about how the crook is leading KC among women (are most women pro-murder)?
It’s high time that republicans start standing up for life and real marriage and starting fighting back. If every other campaign ad you see is how KC is taking away a women’s right to choose (murder), and you never see him with his family talking about the traditional family, what is anyone to believe? That’s he’s pulled a Romney, given up. No other way to explain it. KC is a great conservative and a great communicator, that in the past stood up to liberals. He’s got two weeks to do it. If not, look for Hillary Clinton to carry the state in 2016.
When the Clintons bought their White Plains area home, Terry the Terrible was their creditor. No conflict of interests among this bunch huh?
McAuliff was Chief-of-Staff under Billy Clinton, ran every aspect of the WH, crucified all the Clinton conquests that came out of the woodwork, and as such did her bidding as well. He is joined at the hip with the Clintons.
BECAUSE THEY KNOW HOW TO CHEAT!!!!!
THAT’S WHAT THEY ALWAYS DO.
Remember, “If it isn’t close, they can’t cheat”.
Organize transportation to the polling places .. get the media involved by informing the public .. that is if you can find a media group who isn’t supporting Terry .. or paid off by Hillary.
Thank you for your efforts.
McAuliffe would be a disaster for Virginia.
You are welcome. I’m going to be doing double time these next two weeks. I’m not on a new project till the beginning of November. Even with that I’m making sure to be at the polls all day on election day in my precinct. We can win this if people wake up soon enough. Two weeks is an eternity in politics.
Someone earlier came up with a truthful line:
Virginia stuck on Stupid!
KC doesn’t seem to know how to run a campaign. Or he must know that the people of VA are hopelessly lost.
There are few more blind than the people of VA!
The Dems are throwing everything at this and have been for months. The race much be much tighter than is being reported.
They sure are acting like it.
The Clintons don’t exactly have a great record with their endorsements. Maybe this is a good sign. I sent some $ to C.
McCauliffe has a history of underperforming his polls. He really needs to get his base out. He knows that the turnout is going to decrease significantly from 2012 when 70% of the electorate turned out. The reality is that 40% or less will turnout and I expect probably less given the contentious nature of the race.
I don’t see ole Bill out there making speeches and backing any one. What’s with that?
He has sent out emails on McAuliffe’s behalf. Its going to get real interesting if Hillary runs. Does she dump bill? He will be her greatest risk as well as asset in some respects.
McAuliff has some dirt on Hillary; of course she’s obligated to campaign for him.
And Ken Cuccinelli and the Republicans are not fighting hard enough. Rush Limbaugh ran a demo of a hard-hitting and EFFECTIVE add that is not being run. If you don’t fight, you die!
Well, we’ve got the Benghazi Babe and the Democratic Thug polluting our state, and some voters will buy their marxist crap and lies.
Nasty campaign and McAuliffe’s propaganda is basically lies, more lies and damned lies, which is the normal for this New York Democrat carpetbagging POS.
We do have some very stupid Democrats in Virginia and some RINO Republics in the Tidewater area (who are going to pay a big political price for their treason in supporting McAuliffie).
Give the fools free phones, cheap insurance, and a welfare check, and they will vote for the Devil if he ran on that platform.
Compared to what we have now—I would almost welcome them back.........(and I can’t believe I just typed that!)
All too true.....
