That’s nice, but wouldn’t it be better to encourage the govt. to make the environment so that business could thrive and create jobs so the poor could be employed and support themselves?

Imagine how much money he would make if he sold rides on the motorcycle with him! Yeah, I know, it would be tacky ...
I am a practicing Catholic, let’s get that out of the way.
What the Pope is doing here is symbolic. It is the calling card of socialism. Why doesn’t the Pope make an issue as the the causes of homelessness? Let’s get to the root causes of homelessness - mental illness, lack of jobs in the private sector, too much government and too many rules in building affordable housing.....I could go on. What can the church / Pope do about that? Plenty!!
