I cant see why they would care when they are just going to lock them up when they turn 16 or become gang eligible.
What kind of crap journalism is this - the study is done by pro-aborts and the claimers of injustice are the women’s lawyers and supporters of abortion and no evidence existed that these babies died naturally.
So it’s like an American Press Story.
Their showcase was a woman who “miscarried” at 38-42 weeks (also known as full-term,) and claims she didn’t know she was pregnant and had periods throughout pregnancy. That would raise an eyebrow or two here.
Have you ever seen super obese women? I had a friend (no longer) about 5-8 years ago that was about 400lbs. She didn’t know she was pregnant until like the 8th month. Because it didn’t show.
Note that most of the women are turned in by public heath care staff. Another argument against government run health care.
I suppose that could be true in some cases but,OTOH,it's not at *all* unheard of for a woman to have what doctors call a "spontaneous abortion" or "SAB".That's another way of saying miscarriage.I'm firmly and unalterable opposed to abortion but to charge a woman for what certainly could be called "God's will" is disgraceful.
At the risk of being accused of having a dirty mind I can't help but wonder what kind of guy could be crazy enough...or desperate enough to....
Don’t disagree with that statement but this articles agenda is legal abortion. More people will be harmed from that then this current situation.
I hear those stories too; it’s the no missed periods combined with it that I question. I also didn’t convict her, but it does warrant a raised eyebrow, at least.
You will note, that the folks agitating on this aren’t asking for a high standard of evidence for conviction, they want to make what the mother is accused of doing legal.
Obesity results in disrupted menstrual cycles, irregular to nonexistent.
The woman in the article that miscarried? That could be a health problem. I didn’t form enough/barely measurable amniotic fluid with my first pregnancy. Not going to indict this woman without more medical history.
In the other instance posted about a friend, the very obese woman probably didn’t have regular menstrual cycles; so missing 8 months or so would not be out of the ordinary and not clue one into the possibility of a pregnancy.
But, I would say that I started actually feeling both of my children around 4-5 months. So even if there is no menstrual evidence, there is other things happening.
This woman claimed that she kept on HAVING the cycles. All of the cases of women with missed periods are NOT APPLICABLE here.
I am not saying it is impossible, I am saying that there is probable cause for investigation.
My wife told me this morning about a woman she knows, a midwife no less, who felt she was going to miscarry rather late. She went to the hospital, they confirmed. They gave her the option of staying at the hospital or going home. She opted for home. She miscarried. She was questioned by authorities about it, and was cleared. You check it out. Otherwise, every woman who drops her 40 week baby in the trash could say she miscarried.
What I was orignially getting at was that the aricle didn’t seem able to get a more clearcut case for a poster child. The people trumpeting this case don’t want to make it easier on mothers with genuine miscarriages. They want legalized abortion, which should have no bearing on this women’s case. In Latin America, there is no shortage of doctors willing to make EVERY abortion a “life of the mother” case, which is why even leftist Nicaragua (under great public pressure) made a no exceptions law.

I took that to mean that you couldn't understand how a woman could get pregnant, miss periods, and it not be a clue to the pregnancy or some other underlying condition. And I had responded that for obese women, regular periods may not occur, and could not be used as a pregnancy indicator.
I have no doubt that this is a push for legalized abortion, just like when I have my female peers tell me how awful it was for their grandmothers, in horribly abusive situations, having to bear dozens of kids was an excuse for abortion. But, I was simply responding to the point about missed menstrual cycles, it is an effect of obesity. And there are medical rarities where women can have underlying conditions which result in "periods" etc that may not clue them into pregnancy. ie: placenta previa might cause spotting. I would be more suspect of not feeling the baby kick, etc.
No problem. You are right about the rare cases where spotting occurs during pregnancy. I suppose that it is possible that the baby had a problem that led to the lack of sensable kicking, or that the mother may have had her own problems that kept her from feeling it.
What we don’t have a publicized record of in El Salvador or Nicaragua, is a mother of a miscarried 10 week old little one, being harangued by investigators with a bright light in her face. That’s the picture they would produce if they could.
The guy was skinny as a pole. Not very bright though.
