How Will You Fare in the Obamacare Exchanges?
Heritage Foundation ^ | Oct. 17, 2013 | Drew Gonshorowski

There are literally no comparisons to current rates. That is, [the Department of Health and Human Services] has chosen to dodge the question of whose rates are going up, and how much. Instead they try to distract with a comparison to a hypothetical number that has nothing to do with the actual experience of real people. —Douglas Holtz-Eakin President, American Action Forum[1]

Enrollment in Obamacare’s health insurance exchanges has proven to be a somewhat difficult process amidst technical glitches and delays. Aside from the issues associated with actually purchasing health care, once an individual gets a quote for health insurance on an exchange, is the premium higher or lower than before?

It is and I didn’t know until I was trying to get my own plan and they don’t tell people. I have never seen a story done on this crap.

Anyone notice the Kaiser website used to calculate what your “subsidies” are under this mess ... is down today.

Interesting. I wonder if it has been shut down due to it informing people of how much more they will be paying and the gov’t doesn't want that info to get out.

"...many of the Obama voters are allowed to stay on their parents healthcare until they are 26.(snip) Ever wonder why they passed that?"

Well, when you consider the additional fact that obama has referred to children as being a "punishment" for parents, it starts to make sense...

FYI ... Yes, there was one woman in the now famous article regarding “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

http://thabto.wordpress.com/2013/10/07/obamacare-we-knew-it-would-be-bad-but-its-somehow-even-worse/

So, to be fair, there is this ONE case reported where the woman was paying for her own insurance and her rate went down. She has a pre-existing breast cancer condition. Her rates went down a couple hundred a month.

But again, to be fair to you, her employment is listed as “artist”, she lives in the San Fran region, and is 64 years old. I read this as an unrepentant, unenlightened hippy chick for whose past sins we all going to pay for.

And perhaps ALSO receiving some type of aid, but the article doesn’t say that.

I have to wonder if she would have opted for this if she had known that her personal info was going to be readily available to hackers.

I have an open question to ALL Freepers: Does anyone know or can anyone make an educated guess as to whether or not, along with personal financial information, if the indiviual’s medical records could also be accessed through this website??

Remember when this was a free country?

That’s the problem with getting old, I DO remember
how this country used to be.

God help us.

I currently pay 230 a month for 4 people. 2 kids, 2 adults. 3 of us have “pre existing conditions” including type 1 diabetes.

We have no deductibles. 3 dollar drug copay, 3 dollar office visit, 100 dollar ER.

Obamacare after tax payer buy down is 6700 a year plus the 10,000+ deduct.

pass.

I fare as well as possible, being on Medicare, something I’d not have said before the Mahdi ascended from the poisoned well his slut/whore of a baby mamma urinated and dedicated into.

Hi CableGuy,

Yes, of course, very few people will pay the first premium before December. I certainly wouldn’t.

At the time of that report, 21,865 enrolled for Expanded Medicaid with zero premium but some copays (in this state).

Most Cordially, Steve

Here is a link with the data in tabular form:

P.S. I applied by paper form and mailed it in on the 7th; got the acceptance letter today but they do require one more document for verification which I will mail this afternoon. Like the others, I am going to hold onto my wallet until December!

It will be interesting to see if those who don’t pay the first premium get the first three months’ coverage gratis, like those who miss a later payment. It is not really gratis, but providers have to treat it like coverage is still in effect for those three months. This is one of the most grievous mistakes of the whole plan (other than the death culture provisions) and will create HUGE problems for providers who don’t get reimbursed.

One really strange thing is we already got our membership cards in the mail, before paying the premium and before sending in the verification. I guess Washington State is really keen on getting people enrolled.
