So the Senate has reached a deal, and the House GOP leadership will reportedly allow a vote on it, meaning this crisis is probably over. For now, anyway. How long until Republicans put us through all of this again?
Its easy to make fun of GOP Rep. Peter King, but he was one of the few to call out GOP insanity from the inside early in this process. Now, in an interesting and entertaining interview with Capital New York, hes calling for Republicans to wage war on Ted Cruz. King predicts the Texas Senator will try do this all again in a few months, and crucially, he points out that its on the non-crazy Republicans to prevent this from happening:
Hes going to be coming back, rewriting history, saying, We were on the verge of victory back in October, and we could have won if wed just stayed in there another week. And hes going to have phone calls being made, and hes going to have town hall meetings. And hes going to have all those support groups out there, threatening to downgrade people on their scorecards and all that stuff. [...]
I think its important for people in the Republican Party around the country not to just come in at the end and say, Congress was dysfunctional, or Congress screwed up. Thats too easy to do, King said. Say who it was. Because it wasnt Congress. it was one person who was able to steamroll Congress and unless we target him for what he is, hes going to do it again. So Im hoping other Republicans will join me and start going after this guy, and say were not going to let it happen again.
Oy. Yes, this is exactly what Cruz is going to do....

Boehner didn’t let him the first time and That didn’t stop him.
How long till Obama and King do it to us again?
You can count on Cruz to fight back again, and we can count on the traitors to fight us again.
Peter Kng sounds like nothing less than a jealous woman. He needs to go ahead and run into the comforting arms of his crush, the ‘rats.

We need a primary challenger for Peter King. I don’t care if its another RINO. I want to see this guy humiliated and destroyed.
They got rid of Lincoln, JFK, Reagan (almost), and many others. A senator would be easy for them.

Kings problem is he is like McCain.
He is on the insider committees.
He thinks his **** don’t stink.
That would be “plumb line”, not plum line.
Go to the source and see how they spell it.
Ted is well aware of the opposition despite the cacophony from both sides of calling him a neophyte.
The only thing King has been right about is that Ted Cruz will do it again! Thank God!
Ted has both eyes open.
The democrats have already setup the next shutdown, there is no way they will agree to any budget before then.
Even when they control both houses of congress they never agree to a budget. They just spend spend spend! To hell with the consequences because as long as the US has a ‘Good credit’ the consequences will be felt by someone else, in their hope someone who can’t even vote yet.
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
I honestly am very suspicious of any one who attempts to blame the acts of an entire government on one senator.
Their Demonization of Ted Cruz has got to have something very much deeper behind it. Given the track-record of those demonizing Ted It makes me support Ted all the more wholeheartedly.
Publicity is priceless.
Ted may have lost the battle but know he is a household name as a junior Senator.
Obama was voting present at that time in his life.
Old school bastages are pissed off that Cruz is getting the limelight and are desperately trying to get the light on themselves.
Next up?
Immigration reform.
I bet Ted has a thing or two to say.
They - being essentially - the same Party. Repubs don’t get ‘rid ‘ of anybody. They just ‘eat ‘ their own- and only, in a manner of speaking.
