My ex-husband always used to say that men can see right through makeup and clothes, so there aren’t really any surprises. I do get more attrition when I’m wearing makeup, but a smile and a confident attitude bring the most male attention. I’ve read some studies showing that men respond most favorably to a woman when she’s wearing lipstick, not because it fools anyone but because it’s a message saying, “I’m trying to look pretty for you, I’m interested, I’m not a feminist.”

I remember reading something once years back about the evolution of make-up(’’paint’’ as it was once called) and mascara( Spanish for ‘’mask’’). Seem lipstick got it's start over 2,000 years ago when Egyptian prostitutes used red ocher on their lips as advertising for a particular sex act.
