Twenty states and Washington, D.C., have legalized the medicinal use of marijuana, and two states (Colorado and Washington) have legalized the substance for recreational use.
So what's the next logical step? Smoking pot in public?
Perhaps that's pushing the envelope too far too fast, but some marijuana smokers have found a clever way to sidestep that "inconvenience": the electronic cigarette.
Battery-operated e-cigarettes which are not federally regulated have picked up steam (no pun intended) in recent years as a less harmful option for cigarette smokers. The devices are expected to gross up to $1.7 billion in sales in 2013, and it's possible that the sale of e-cigs will surpass the sale of traditional cigarettes by 2047.

Liquid marijuana might sound baffling, but it does exist and is a very popular item in Denver and Boulder, Colo., marijuana dispensaries, selling "rapid-fire, everywhere," said Jessica Eileen, manager of Fresh Baked Dispensary in Boulder. And the form of e-cigarettes called vapor pens are commonplace at pot shops, she said. "I think everybody [sells them]," Eileen said.

New York Assemblywoman Linda B. Rosenthal introduced a bill in 2012 to make the sale of e-cigarettes to minors illegal.
"Once you try electronic cigarettes, you can become hooked to them, move on to cigarettes and then move on to other drugs," Rosenthal told NBC last year. New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Maryland have already barred the sale of e-cigarettes to minors.

I Ave a friend who regularly gets high this way at Starbucks.
In the poofy chairs.
At peak busy hours.
I think the problem is that the sort of look like real cigarettes. Libs are conditioned to freak out at the sight of a cigarette.
I have experienced the smell of pot oil. It would be hard to take the stink of marijuana out of that oil.

*snicker*
I'll be humming that all day. Me and Dave.
With a few exceptions ecig vapor has a very slight odor, depending on the flavor. My wife would not allow me to smoke in the house because of the stink that attached itself to everything. I smoked for 40+ years and for the last 30 years I quit smoking everyday. I tried the patch, nasal inhalers, acupunture, hypnosis, prayer, rage, and gum to no avail.
I picked up an ecig at 7/11 on 1/17/11 and haven’t had an analog (cigarette) since that day. It helped me to deal with both the physical and behavioral addiction. And I vape in the house because there is virtually no odor, and that includes some very strong Turkish blends. Every once in a while she does get an urge for some of that Strawberry Cheescake I’m vaping.
As to ecigs and THC I suspect the strong, very identfiable odor is still there. Who cares? They are not enforcing the laws anyway. It is just another cause for the hang wringers to latch on to.
Ever notice that most of the activists act as if they are “Holier than thou” when they are anything but?
I was just talking to a colleague. He said that his biking improved dramatically when switching to e-cigs and a vaporizer for the weed. Much easier on the lungs.
You’ll see people coughing at the sight of an e-cigarette. You’ll see people coughing when someone has an unlit cigarette in his or her mouth.
Stoners are rarely violent, unlike drunks, so there is that.
Yes you can. I started gaping haven’t bought a pack if cigs in almost a week.
Thinking about getting the strawberry cheese cake. Right now I have the reg cig flavor has a nice odor and the mocha coffee. I love it.
The war on drugs marches on, enslaving millions

What is 'gaping'?
I want to be either gaping or not gaping - depending on the situation!
TIA!

Sorry vaping
I smoked regular cigarettes for many years and tried all kinds of ways to quit. Then I had to get off the Nicorret gum, which I found to be quite nice.
During the "experimental" college years, I smoked reg. cigarettes and 'the herb'.
When I moved from university, I just didn't have interest anymore. For me, it was never a gateway drug.
It was way harder to get off regular cigs.
Way harder................
Your mileage may differ....<8:)
Don’t bogart that e-cig, my friend. Pass it over to me!
Dave’s not here.
If you say so . . .
