Agreed. Otherwise, why would they be so sneaky?
So far, it seems like they are treating us like a lesser species.
The good news is that as you become a more evolved species, you stop mismanaging the species you are monitoring.

Lewis’ space trilogy and you will understand, if in fact they do exist. I’m open to it, but don’t think about it much. I concentrate on the Return of the Great King. Maybe then they’ll be able to visit without us killing them.
I think that if they've mastered interstellar travel, they have neither good nor bad intentions for us. "Uninterest" would be my likeliest assumption.
For instance, you might be aware of the ants in your driveway, but you're not going to try to sit down and have a conversation with them.
So long as the alien equivalent of an 8-year-old with a magnifying glass doesn't come along, we'll be fine. :-)
