I filed a complaint regarding repeated robo-marketing calls to my cell phone. Several weeks later I got a certified letter from the Attorney General’s office informing me that they’d determined the calls were being placed over VOIP lines from Bulgaria, and hence, beyond their jurisdiction.

This list is now worthless apparently.

The only alternative left requires mass participation and cooperation. Take the call, find out what company is trying to sell what item, spread the word and boycott them. If they are near you, track down contact numbers for their executives and bombard them with 3 AM calls, or picket their homes or offices...get creative.

But the call/picket time could better be spent ridding ourselves of this freedom-endangering regime, instead of a mere annoyance.

If the NSA is going to monitor everything anyway, they could at least do something about telephone scam artists. If they were smart, it would be the perfect way for them to get some brownie points with the public (sad, but true).

The Do Not Call list has been worthless almost from the start. Our home phone and both cell phones are on it and have always received calls anyway. The telemarketing companies have found ways of going around it and there is nothing anyone can do.
