Back in 2008, when then-candidate Obama promised Joe the Plumber and the rest of America that he intended to spread the wealth around, most democrat and liberal voters embraced the notion of wealth redistribution under the guise of equality. A universal health care plan, that would be free for all Americans, was the promise from the candidate of hope and change.
Tens of millions of Americans jumped on the bandwagon waving their flags, fainting at his appearances, and fawning over his every word.
None ever thought about where the money would come from for all this new found wealth he promised to bestow upon them.
But those who understand that socialism, communism and governance by the collective are failed experiments, warned where that money would come from. It would be taken by force from the toils of the middle class, and itd impoverish them in the process.
Now the myrmidons who once vehemently supported the policies of President Barack Obama without question are coming to the realization that when Obama spoke about spreading the wealth he actually meant their wealth too!
Cindy Vinson is one such supporter. This month, like many Americans who have health insurance through their employer or private insurers, Vinson got an unwanted awakening to the reality of government sponsored wealth confiscation and redistribution:
Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.
Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.
Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.
I was laughing at Boehner until the mail came today, Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.
I really dont like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my familys pocket each year, thats otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.
Both Vinson and Waschura have adjusted gross incomes greater than four times the federal poverty level the cutoff for a tax credit. And while both said they anticipated their rates would go up, they didnt realize they would rise so much.
Of course, I want people to have health care, Vinson said. I just didnt realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.
Is that a pic of a woman or a man”???
Considering it is from the Bay area, it could be anything.
Help!
What a coinky dink! Because now I'm laughing at you!!!
For cripe sakes (no offense IbJensen, this is not specifically picking on you), can we at least make it clear in our discussions, that Obamacare is not health care, it is health insurance. I know the media and the politicians aren't being accurate, or truthful, in their discussions, but Freepers are more knowledgable than that.
BTW, when people get subsidized Obamacare insurance, aren't they still going to be subjected to high deductibles? Wait to the people who get their "free" Obamacare relaize they are still oing to have to pay for a big chunk of their health care.
Bttt.
That green head wrap is flipping us off!!
God help us. Single payer (gov’t control) is their ultimate utopia.
Don’t forget decent Voter ID laws.
Every photo I ever see of liberals screams left side of the bell curve.
*schruggs*
This was posted on FR 2 or 3 times yesterday from the Murcky News!!!
When working Americans get another dose of reality-—
They already have had many of their jobs held down to 30 hours.
That is a 25% cut in gross pay.
Now- they are being told to participate in mandatory Obamacare.
How long will it be before they realize that they can chose to pay their mortgage payments or pay for Obamacare?
Will this trigger another round of severe foreclosures—among a part of the population that tightened their budgets to keep their house payments current-—until Obamacare???
This isn’t about people who were illegal immigrant strawberry pickers who were allowed to buy a $650,000 house in Fresno, Calif & couldn’t keep up the payments & lost it 6 months later. (That really happened).
This is about people who have skills, have kept their -now shorted in hours-jobs & who are trying desperately to keep their families together, housed & clothed & fed.
People making $50-60,000 +++ annually will find they cannot afford anything remotely resembling Obamacare.
So much for a housing recovery & the return of construction jobs.
I wonder if it even matters who they vote for... Did you really believe the votes cast last November were accurately and correctly counted?
I don’t.
There was just enough fraud in all the right places...
Now the myrmidons who once vehemently supported the policies of President Barack Obama without question are coming to the realization that when Obama spoke about spreading the wealth he actually meant their wealth too!
LOL... really it's funny.
That's Benjamin Dover to you, mister!!! (grin)
"You mean I have to pay that money back? I thought they jus gave you the house."
Oh! What a choice comment!!!
Just a perfect comment!!!
