As you are well aware, wrote Retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Geoff Ross -- in a message posted by Fred Brownbill on Save America Foundation Sunday -- the federal government has illegally and unconstitutionally closed state fishing and navigational waters within the 12 mile boundary of state waters.
When logging onto the U.S. Department of Interior website, visitors are greeted with this message, posted Oct. 1 by the National Park Service:
Because of the federal government shutdown, all national parks are closed and National Park Service webpages are not operating. For more information, go to www.doi.gov.
...
I want 1000 to 2000 charter boats filling the water way that was closed and confiscated illegally by President Obama under his White House order. DEFY IT ! Its illegal.
Im going to fill my waterway with boats, Ross told Examiner Monday. Charter boats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, I dont care.
Just fill it. Were going to fill it.

And I thought the media was stupid for reporting the names of the pilots of the plane that crash-landed in San Francisco.
Unbelievable.

I certainly would be terrible if the NPS came out to play and managed to have their boat run over. Sorry about that, but the rules of the road are to get out of the way of vessels larger than you are. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Stupid feral employees.

I swear I think some people are actively trying to sabotage conservatives.
Small businesses can’t processed loans, new social security benefits can’t be processed, heck, US troops overseas can’t watch a football game because AFN shut down all but one channel, and some yahoo is getting hysterical about something that isn’t even true, or at best, half-true.
What do you think voters are going to remember when all of this is over?

Anyone who commands a boat or a ship is entitled to be called captain, regardless of their actual rank, this is true in civilian life as well as the Navy. For instance a Lt. JG in charge of an LST would be entitled to be called captain and would be called such by the men under him or her as the case may be.

What's going on down here in Islamorada, and our facebook is going nuts,is that a bunch of backwater(swamp guides) charter Capts. are all going to meet tomorrow at 1:00 PM at the inland water way off Tavernier in the Upper Keys at a place called the Cowpens Cut. What happens from there I am not sure yet.You can be sure this will be newsworthy and lots of boats will show up. If i can get someone to watch my shop I will be there as well.
Many are willing to go to jail to protest being kept out of waters that they care about far more then the carpet baggers who are assigned to rule the area.

Facebook in the keys over this issue is going nuts. I’m sure it will in many other areas of the state as well.

... Retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Geoff Ross...All due respect to the Senior Chief, but he is not a "Retired Navy captain".
That is all...

Captain is not a Rank... You might want to ell all the Navy O6's out in the fleet then.
And the Army, USMC & USAF O3's....

In the story reference it was referring to a command, the Chief was a Captian.
I am aware of the rank designations, having server in both the Army and the Navy. Should have been a little more specific I guess. I first enlisted in 1955 so cut me a little slack for the grey hair, or lack thereof.
