Sounds like they don’t have a definitive solution yet.

Everything is expensive now but ARs are not.
The food is but the platform is not.
7.62 aint cheap anymore either.
Its a great round but the AR is a great platform.

Thanks Smoking Frog and mylife.....do you recommend buying in bulk...is it safe to spend 500 bucks on .45 acp ammo or should I buy a few boxes and if it fires well then buy in bulk?

Make friends with the guy that works in sporting goods. That’s my best advice. LoL!

I got the SCAR 17 for a 7.62. It was worth the extra bucks to me because the recoil is barely more than an AR15, except louder.
To: smokingfrog
I’ve not heard of them before.

I would just buy cheap stuff for practice and spend some money on 50 rounds of the good stuff for personal protection.

I don’t get why AR 10s are so much more expensive than AR 15s?
To: superfries
You will save a little money if you buy in bulk. Most standard type .45’s don’t seem to be all that picky about ammo. But I wouldn’t buy a bunch of cheap steel case Wolf or something like that without testing it first.

Its bit late in the season for home made ice cream. We keep the little KitchenAid ice cream maker going through Thanksgiving. Made calvados sorbet a few years ago and it sort of turned into a family thing.

It makes bigger holes too.

They arent that much more, but they are more expensive.
.308 vs .223?
I imagine they take more engineering and more material.
They weigh 16 freekin lbs.

Those are probably “copper washed” steel case ammo.
