It wwould be interesting to know precisely when the carefully printedd sign giving notification of the closure of the memorial was made?

I have received word from the U.S. Marine Band (The President’s Own)that they’ve cancelled their whole Midwest Tour, due to Sequestration, and cancelled several local D.C. area concerts, due to the government shutdown.

Maybe they could go serenade the President until he turns himself in to the authorities. Something similar worked on Noriega in Panama ...

The National Cemeteries are being affected as well. Families with activities at the national Cemetery of the Pacific Punchbowl are being denied access otthe services of the cemetery.

I'll be glad to do it. Look at the picture on my homepage.
Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are all cancelled. My dad was a WWII vet. The Arizona, WWII memorial in Washington, all this crap better stop.

My thought exactly when I saw the signs used in NYC, with the Statue of Liberty as background!

My father is a Vietnam veteran, 2x. Nice picture! I’d throw in three kids with guitars and one with a ukulele.

Despite shutdown, USS Arizona to reopen... kind ofThat would be news, since it's been on the ocean floor for the last 70 years.
Now the USS Arizona Memorial, that's another kettle of fish.

...all this crap better stop. It's not going to stop. The Republicans are getting all the blame. The "Republicans" on Meet the Press agreed it was their fault. As of one week in, the Rats and Obastard are winning this.

They get paid just as much sitting in the barracks as they would to march to somewhere in D.C., play and then march back. Or in D.C. is traveling on foot and unarmed to dangerous?

It wwould be interesting to know precisely when the carefully printedd sign giving notification of the closure of the memorial was made? The signs and the Barry-cades all had to be pre-made, and pre-positioned for use.
That alone says the shutdown was a foregone conclusion (IOW, scripted).

This does not bode well for Obama. The USS Arizona Memorial is the closest thing America has to truly sacred ground. It is as serious or even more serious than the Vietnam Memorial.
For him to order these places closed for petty political reasons, because he is having a temper tantrum, will create generations of people that will despise him. And hopefully to despise his vindictive political party as well.

Didn't mean to hijack your thread, and I agree about when were the signs printed, but just all this, USS Arizona, Marine Band, it's all Obama spitting in everybody's face.
And I don't particularly care to be treated that way.

“I don’t particularly care to be treated that way.”
Me either. But are we going to actually DO anything about it? Doesn’t look like it. A few random acts of civil disobedience by a few 90-year-olds, and short-lived refusals to comply by a few small businesses just aren’t going to cut it. Irate blog comments by a handful won’t either. Most Americans either agree with Zero that it’s the fault of the evil, stupid Republicans, or they just don’t care.

How about
Relax by Frankie Goes to Hollywood or
It's Raining Men by the Weathergirls. Maybe a little Judy Garland...
But I'm sure Obama would like that.
