What would be the gain for escalating this? Is it oblowhard or a minion doing this? No doubt oblowhard sanctions it. This administration is packed with ideologue directors with hundreds of thousands of fawning, lick-spittle toadies to do their bidding. If the pawns are not toadies they are just stupid little people who are afraid that they will lose their phony baloney but high paying and lush benefit jobs and pensions. If they lost them they might have to actually work for a living.
That's an interesting question. If this command, for the wire specifically, did NOT come as a direct order from His Feral Lowness, then perhaps it could be attributed to one of those bureaucratic drones under him who simply cannot imagine civil disobedience. So the escalation would be nothing more than the natural byproduct of someone not understanding that doubling down might earn them some nasty blowback from the "serfs." In either case, I believe they will find in the end they have underestimated us.
Obama has too look strong at home after his humiliation abroad over Syria. He was deeply embarrassed by Putin at the Russian State Dinner, and like the middle school bully who got beat up by the high school kid, he's now meaner to those in his own schoolyard to make himself feel better.
