It has a kind of poetry to it ...
Nothing to parse. No there there. Nothing bad. Unlike Boner stabbing us in the back.
Something tells me this won’t be picked up. These kind of inside baseball conversations happen all the time.
I’d be more worried about these Boehner emails.
Great to see Rand thinks we will win though. He’s not a wild-eyed optimist either.
Mitch should have repeated - - louder, “I’m all wired up here”.
And then Paul said “lord satan I worshop you.” Let’s just put a wooden stake in his heart.
Almost seems like a contrived hot mic moment. Rand’s a crafty little bugger. I am glad he is on our side.
I think that Politico writer has had those since April.
So Paul is saying the RATS are losing points every time they say "we won't negotiate"
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
I am ticked off. My son, who is a recent high school graduate has been trying to find a steady job for months, was hired for a job. Then he was told that he can’t start work yet because they have to run his name through Everify before he can start this new job. Obama shut down the Everify website. He put up a cyber Barrycade, I guess. What a great way to help the economy.
>> Great to see Rand thinks we will win though.
Yes, but disappointing to think that he trusts McChinless with his strategic thoughts.
Reps will never win the media war. The only thing to do is be consistent.
Reps should hit the new media hard. not sure social media is worth the time, full of liberals
I’m shock McConnell would deign to talk to Paul. I thought he hated him with a passion.
Who is “they” in “I don’t think they poll tested we won’t negotiate”. By context, it would appear to be the media. The only explanation I can up with is that the “republicans won’t negotiate” message isn’t gaining traction, and as a result, the Republicans are seeing some good polling numbers. Also, later lines indicate that the polling is showing that the “we wanted to defund, but will settle for a delay” approach is resonating.
But the fly in the ointment is the “it’s awful for them to say that”, unless he just means it’s a tactical mistake for them to keep harping on the “won’t negotiate” message. Otherwise, it doesn’t mesh well with the above.
Any other explanations?
"Have you got a sec?"
"Well, I'm all wired up here ..."
"Don't worry. They never turn those mics on until just before you go out there. Listen, did you see those photos?"
"The ones with Obama? And that boy?"
"I couldn't believe it."
"Do you ... do you think he lived?"
"I dunno. I mean, a lot of people have strange tastes and all ... but ... that's twisted."
I just got back from the White House. He sounded scared."
"He thinks we're going to say something?"
"No. Not that. He knows we won't talk about that. But I think ... I think he gets these urges. I think he's afraid that he'd going to do it again. I mean, he's got another trip coming up. That's when he ... you know ... he has these kids brought to him ..."
"It's awful."
"It sure is. Well, I think I have to go out there now and talk about budget stuff."
"Good luck."
So Paul is saying: "I think if we keep saying 'We wanted to defund it ... [but] ... we're willing to compromise on this' ... we're gonna win this "
OK, I get it. We are the party of compromise, you won't compromise, we will win the argument.
Just
one
time.
If Jesse Jackson can talk about ‘cutting Obamas nuts out’ this is a non-event.
See my posts 9 and 17. The RATS are the ones saying ‘We eon’t negotiate’ the Mc says that’s what they are saying in private as well.
