I've been in many hotels in my life, but none ever had a frying pan.
I'm thinking this may have occurred at a welfare motel.

I’ve stayed at extended stay hotels and they have full kitchens including utensils. On one vacation my husband went to the grocery store and I made breakfast the whole week.
