They don’t have money to keep it open so they pay guards to be there.What changes when it is open?
Last time I was there, you just walked up to it and into it. It didn’t appear to be staffed, or need anybody staffing it. There wasn’t any fence around it or anything. They had to pay someone to come put a little portable fence around it to ‘close’ it for the shutdown.
I had to fight the urge to jump up from my desk and cheer when I read about this earlier today.
