Good point. Conservatives by and large want to be left alone to pursue their private affairs (which is the whole purpose of political freedom) and are typically too busy living their lives to get involved with politics.
Libertarians want to be FREE and are only too happy to make a stink if that's what it takes.

I agree with the vital trade off, absolutely.
But.... I must raise the point that conservatives have been broadcasting that soundbite (excuse) that they, “are too busy”, for now ions. THAT is exactly how we lost the country, though it is perhaps true. We have paid the price if it is.
The democrats have picked up on that mantra, and left us scratching our head how they got it all done and we did not.
