I fell asleep with CSPAN radio playing. I woke up with the thought: What if Cruz refuses to stop talking? What if he is still talking at noon?
I was just thinking the same....as I am thinking of going to bed....and wondering if I will wake up to them!!
Bottom line... Makes no sense to vote for Cloture as it is presented, knowing that it will take only 51 votes to pass it.
In other words...The House passed a bill that fund the gov’t by defunding Obamacare. Let’s vote on Cloture for that...
But no, the bill before the Senate has been changed.
If the republicans stand firm...and they do not vote for cloture...then basically it is very clear... the govt will shut down until they vote for cloture of the original bill.
WHAT IS IT THAT MCCONNELL, AND THE REST, ARE THINKING ABOUT THIS? DO THEY NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS THE STRATEGY... THIS IS PLAN...THIS A BRILLIANTLY LAYED OUT APPROACH.
