The powers-that-be are not willing to cede power to anyone. They already defeated Hillary back in 2008 and for good reason, because Hillary was a threat to their rule. Hillary came with her own agenda. She refused to be an empty pants-suit. And that still holds true today. So the current power brokers in the Dem Party - the same ones who took Michigan delegates away from Hillary in 2008 and replaced them with Obama delegates - will be looking for another incompetent boob to sit as a figurehead while they continue to rob our country blind.
I actually think that Joe Biden has a very good chance of winning the Dem nomination. But Kaine is equally incompetent, so he has just as good of a chance. As for Hillary, she is dreaming if she thinks she can overturn this Chicago-based multi-billion dollar campaign machine.
