Why it matters that Jews are standing on the Temple Mount [your blood will boil]

Zechariah 12:10
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

What you fail to realize, shineon, is that your belief that this refers to J*sus is a claim of chrstianity. The fact that chrstianity claims this does not make it self-evidently true. You assume the authority of the "new testament" to interpret the Hebrew Bible, but without this assumption of yours you simply have no argument at all. What it all boils down to is that in order to believe the so-called "old testament" teaches that J*sus is the messiah, you have already believe this anyway.

Ok Yehuda. I’ve got your back. Forget about what I posted. I apologize for offending you with it. This is a public forum. I have been wrong more than once in it. Really, end time theology is not that important to me and I respect your views on the old and new testaments.

If that was really meant for Yehuda, you pinged the wrong person.

Many of the objects of his criticism (such as Root and Branch, the Temple Institute, and the Sanhedrion) have web sites, as do (I assume) the Chief Rabbis. I have also been advised by my trustworthy advisor that it is best to avoid the Temple Institute.

Recall that I am by nature and inclination a "Build the Temple NOW!!!" kind of person, so I'm engaging in self-restraint here.

I have an allergy to ecumenism and tend to run away screaming at the slightest whiff of it. At any rate, scattered among his many newsletters are examples of Israeli Orthodox rabbis engaged in various ecumenical activities. But at any rate, this guy's still a bit off the beaten path. He also opposes the idea that smoking is wrong and calls Rabbi Me'ir Kahana' (zt"l; Hy"d) a socialist.

Opposition to the Temple organizations and the "Sanhedrion" is not limited to this guy. The vast majority of Gedolim are adamantly opposed. I'm trying to overcome my Protestant past by putting a brake on my natural inclinations to cling to the word of Torah authorities.

Sheik Palazzi (the moslem leader these movements are so enamored of) is a perfect example of what is wrong with these movements. His worldview is that people in other religions (such as islam and chrstianity) should acknowledge the Jewish relationship to G-d and the Jews' claim to 'Eretz Yisra'el but should otherwise remain as they are. This IS ecumenism. The authentic Torah position is that all non-Jews must leave all their religions and embrace only the Noachide Laws. All non-Jewish religions were created in violation of Noachide Law. And anyone who claims the "authentic Jewish position" is "just leave us alone and you can practice whatever religion you want to" is going to catch Tofet from me!
